Hey Everyone -

Thanks for being patient while we hack out these last few issues with
the email list. Upgrading to a new version always has its snaffoo's, but
things should be working fairly well now.

Some of the user settings got reset in the transition, and some people
are asking about how to turn off the email, or at least set it to digest
mode so you only get one email a day and your inbox doesn't get
bombarded.

I wanted to show all of you how to make simple changes to your STN email
subscription via email. The instructions are below: Enjoy!

MAKING CHANGES VIA EMAIL
------------------------

All settings can be managed by making a new email message to:

affiliates-request at studenttelevision.com

PASSWORDS
-----------

You'll need your password to make any changes to your settings.

If you forgot your password, send an email to the same address above,
with "password" in the subject line (no quotes) and it will respond to
you with your current password.

If you want to change your password, email the above address with the
subject being: password <old password> <new password>

COMMANDS
-----------

Here are some nifty options, type these "set" lines into the body of
your email to tell the program what to change. You can add multiple
settings inside one email message.

set authenticate <password>
- You're going to add this line first always. This lets the program know
it's really you. You'll replace <password> with your current password,
though (if you don't have it handy, see above).

set digest plain
- Sets digest mode to on, which allows you to receive ONE email with all
of that day's emails bunched into it, rather than individual emails
throughout the day.

set digest off
- This will turn the digest setting off, allowing you to receive emails
immediately when people send them.

set delivery on
set delivery off
- This will change the setting to deliver emails to you or not. It will
keep you subscribed to the list, but just turn mail delivery on or off
for you. Useful if you're going on vacation for a while, or need a
"break" from the list.

If you're getting excited about these settings, and want to see what
else is available, send an email to the above address with this in the
subject line: set help

Hope that helps!
