I need some advice from my fellow STNrs. I have to work on my 2009/2010
budget and I want to buy some solid state video cameras. I'm looking at
the Canon VIXIA HF S10, but I'm open to any of the SD card based Sony
and Panasonic HD cameras. I have a budget where I can buy about 3
cameras at a price of $1,300.00 each. We are already getting the
Panasonic HM10 series for our upper level classes. I think the smaller
Canons may be a good fit for our beginner classes. If you have purchased
this camera or you know of a better SD based solution, let me know. I
would like to get some feedback as we go into the tapless world. We
invested a lot of money over the years into HDV and we have brand new
Sony HDV decks, but I need to get our students exposed to tape less. We
have always been a Sony shop, but they may have to change. I'm not
worried about software since we have Avid Media Composer, Final Cut
Studio 2 and we are getting the Premiere suite. Thanks.
